World of Warcraf wrath of the lich king - Is it too easy?
I’ve been playing the wrath expansion for a number of weeks now, and my overall experience of it is a favourable one.
I initially started out, like many others by creating a deathknight and levelled that fella up to 71 as quickly as I could.
However it was all too easy. The Death Knight has insane survivability and massive damage output so I rarely died. Those occassions where I did die were down to pulling to many or adding in an elite.
So I decided to swap over to my druid, who had earned a nice chunk of rested bonus by now.
Yet, the druid coped really well with everything. Deaths were few and far between.
I wondered if it was because Balance druids were overpowered, and for a change of pace I swapped over to feral. Nope - no big problems.
So from a single player point of view Wrath seems overly easy. Burning Crusade was more challenging as far as I remember.
So how about from a grouping point of view. Its very much the same story here.
Instances are generally very easy. To the point that 3 fresh level 80’s have been able to do some of the 5 man instances.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m enjoying this expansion. There have been some wonderful moments with slightly different quest styles (My favourite being the one where I was chased through the woods on the back of a horse by a group of werewolves).
Everything looks great. The scenery is beautiful to look at. The music is haunting, and the instances look great. The boss fights are more interesting than any I’ve seen before.
As my druid approaches 80 (78) I hope that heroics will offer up more of a challenge.
Reports from my guild mates are that some are incredibly easy, yet in another they wiped. So I hope for some difficult times ahead.
At the end of the day I’m sure blizzard will bring out more difficult content in upcoming patches.
